Launches eco-friendly A4 colour printer

Leading imaging solutions company, Canon UK, has launched the Canon iR C1021i, a new environmentally-friendly, cost-effective A4 colour multifunctional device intended for workgroups in corporate and small to medium-sized offices.

When switched on, the printer is ready to use in a minute. And when on standby, it uses only 1.2 watts - a first amongst printers in this segment - helping to reduce energy consumption.

The device also offers cost control features such as Auto Colour Sensing technology, which detects pages within a document that contain colour, allowing users to keep costs down by printing in black-and-white as standard, and only printing in colour when it is detected.

The new device also strives to boost efficiency in the office with fast print speeds of 21 pages per minute in both black-and-white and colour and the output of the first page of a job in a minimum time of 12.5 seconds.

Tracey Fielden, head of office marketing, Canon UK, said: "When the economic outlook is uncertain, companies need to have a tight control over their print costs. The Canon iR C1021i is designed to deliver A4 business printing at a very competitive price - offering different features that are not only beneficial to a company's bottom line, but also work to reduce its impact on the environment."
