Staedtler wins Excellence in Marketing award

Manufacturer rewarded by South Wales Chamber of Commerce
Staedtler has won the Excellence in Marketing category of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2011. The result was announced at a gala awards dinner at City Hall, Cardiff, and comes only a few months after the company was selected as one of five winners of the Canmol: Wales Marketing Awards.
The company's entry for both the Chamber of Commerce and Canmol awards focused on the advertising campaign in 2010/2011 which marked its television debut. The campaign aimed to raise awareness with key target groups, and contributed to growth of these product groups over the back to school period.
Nich Lee, head of marketing at Staedtler, said: "Scooping this additional, prestigious marketing award adds the finishing touch to what was a momentous year for Staedtler in 2011, with the company seeing truly significant gains for core product groups.
"For example, Staedtler's value share of the graphite pencil sector in retail multiples has grown significantly year on year, from 26% in 2010 to 37% in 2011, increasing our dominance of the sector."
