Olympus, manufacturer of optical -digital products for the professional market has announced the release of its “entry level” VN range of voice recorders.
The new VN-713PC, VN-712PC and VN-711PC models include a built-in stand and improved signal to noise ratio aimed to improve audio quality and clearer sound recording.
The internal memory of the new range of 2GB provides a recording time of around 34 days, though top models in the range also offer a microSD card slot for greater memory storage.
The new calendar search function has also been added in to the VN-712 and VN-713 models along with a dedicated file search button to ensure that users can locate files via recording date alone.
The devices also offer the potential to insert up to 99 index marks so that users can flag up important places in individual recordings.
The top range VN-713PC model also features a noise cancel function to cut out unwanted background sounds and all models have an extended 72 hour battery life when used for long-playing recordings.
The company is also pushing its latest WS range, designed for students and business people.
The WS-813 and WS-812 incorporate 44.1k/16bit PCM (WAV) recording, equal-to-CD quality and are to feature an eight per cent reduction in power consumption that means that the models now have an extended 27 hours of recording time on a single AAA-type battery.
The range will also include the capability to playback recordings at three and a half times quicker than normal, and two times speed on the WS-811. The WS-812 and WS-813 models also include a voice changer feature that lets the frequency and playback speed of voice to be adjusted to suit individual needs and preferences.
The range is to be made available from March this year.
