Ricoh named Most Outstanding Colour Printer Line of the Year

BLI accolade four ‘Pick’-awarded devices

For the third time in five years, Ricoh, a leading global manufacturer of printing equipment and solutions, fought off the competition to win the BLI award for the ‘Most Outstanding Colour Printer Line of the Year'. This accolade reflects the individual success of four of its devices, which all claimed ‘Pick' awards during the autumn 2009 season.

To be eligible for such an award, vendors such as Ricoh must enter at least one device for laboratory testing across all Pick categories. The four devices awarded individual ‘Autumn 2009 Pick' status, contributing to Ricoh's overall success, include:

• SP C821dn - Awarded Outstanding Large Workgroup Departmental Colour Printer - Pick Autumn 2009

• SP C820dn - Awarded Outstanding Large Workgroup Colour Printer - Pick Autumn 2009

• SP C232sf - Awarded Outstanding Small Workgroup Colour Multifunctional Printer - Pick Autumn 2009

• GX e3350n - Awarded Outstanding Business Inkjet Printer - Pick Autumn 2009

"What jumps out at me is the perfect reliability that the Pick-winning devices demonstrated over the course of 220,000 cumulative impressions: no misfeeds, no service of any kind required-period," declared BLI associate editor Carl Schell. "This is an amazing accomplishment, and customers should feel with the utmost confidence that Ricoh devices can withstand day-to-day usage in any environment."

Each device entered was rigorously tested for two months, during which every unit is run at Ricoh's maximum recommended volume. Uniquely, BLI's office product evaluations include extensive durability testing and reliability assessment. In addition to this, the evaluation includes copy and print quality, productivity, ease of use and economy, as well as connectivity issues, administrative utilities, print drivers, multitasking and scanning solutions.

"Ricoh is three time recipient of BLI's most prestigious honour, thanks to the combination of value, performance and ease of use delivered by its colour printer products," said BLI senior printer analyst Marlene Orr. "This achievement speaks volumes about Ricoh's dedication to providing quality colour products to its customers at every level."

Two further Ricoh products also received recognition: the Afico SP C312DN and C232DN were awarded ‘Highly Recommended' and ‘Recommended' statuses, respectively, for their reliability and, more specifically, for not misfeeding or requiring servicing throughout the evaluation.
