Move to help secure further growth

New HSM administrative building in Frickingen, Germany

Shredder manufacturer HSM has moved into a new environmentally-friendly administrative building in Frickingen, Germany. With the focus of the major function units now at the Frickingen site, the firm feels it is now on the right track for further growth.

The building uses ground water for cooling and geo-thermal energy for heating. It relies on daylight for lighting first before resorting to electric lighting, using a system of sensors and automatic lighting control.

"This building is just as we imagined it," commented MD and founder Hermann Schwelling.

HSM is now environmentally certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001 with the first plant in Reichenbach. Certification for the Frickingen and Salem plants is already underway and is expected to be ready this year.
