Sharp has won the ‘Line of the Year' accolade from Buyer's Lab, Inc (BLI). BLI also singled out six individual Sharp MFPs to receive additional awards, rating them as ‘outstanding'.
This is the second time in three years that Sharp has taken BLI's top ‘Line of the Year' prize, which is awarded once a year to the vendor with the best overall product line, as determined by a two-month laboratory evaluation. Reliability, image quality, productivity, ease of use, scanning, connectivity and value for money are all analysed and compared.
"This is a real honour," said Marc Brion, MFP product marketing manager, Sharp UK. "It validates our philosophy of working closely with end users to understand their needs so we can design products - ranging from office A4 right through to production class A3 - that genuinely improve productivity and efficiency in the workplace."
BLI rated four of Sharp's black and white A3 MFPs as ‘Outstanding' in its Pick of the Year Awards 2009 in every category from 21 to 50 pages per minute (ppm), including the Sharp MX-M283N, MX-M363, MX-M453 and MX-M503.
"Time and again, Sharp is able to respond to the market‘s changing needs and opportunities in a more dynamic manner than many of its competitors," said BLI assignments editor George Mikolay. "This in turn helps them to bring to market the application answers that create a clear level of differentiation from its competitors."
Sharp also received ‘Outstanding' accolades for two of its A4 MFPs. The 38-ppm MX-C381/DX-C381 was judged to be an ‘Outstanding Mid-Size Workgroup A4 Colour MFP' and the 38-ppm black-and-white MX-B381 was honoured as an ‘Outstanding Mid-Size Workgroup A4 Monochrome MFP'.
In each case, the build quality and reliability were key deciding factors.
"With A4 MFPs that are just as robust as traditional A3 MFPs in this important segment, Sharp has a leg up on many of its competitors," said BLI managing editor Daria Hoffman.
