Sixth year in world’s top 100 sustainable corporations list

For the sixth consecutive year, Ricoh, a leading global manufacturer of printing equipment and solutions, has been named as one of the ‘Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World'. The 2010 Global 100 was unveiled at the Annual General Meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland.

Ricoh earned its place in the ranking by continuing to modernise work environments while meeting the sustainability needs of its customers and adding real business value. The ranking specifically highlighted Ricoh's transparent reporting, compared to its peers, when communicating sustainability practices and initiatives.

Tim Taylor, environment and compliance manager, Ricoh UK said: "Sustainable innovation is at the heart of our research and development. We take great pride in our cradle to cradle approach to innovation, offering our customers technologically advanced solutions that contribute to environmental preservation from design to recycling."

Started in 2005 by Corporate Knights Inc. of Canada, the top 100 corporations in the world are selected from more than 1,800 large corporations in all business sectors, based on research and analysis of data provided by Innovest Strategic Value Advisors Inc. in the USA.

The companies selected for the Global 100 were analysed in detail, compared to their industry peers, and evaluated as the global corporations with the best-developed abilities to effectively manage environmental, social and governance risks. Achievement in these three areas, which significantly influences their business results, was evaluated as a key indicator of management quality and long-term financial performance.
