Boosts back to school sales with consumer comp

Brother is giving its reseller partners a sales hook into the back to school market with its new handheld labeller, which is being launched in conjunction with an online family holiday competition.

The affordable PT1005F enables parents and teachers to print out labels onto Brother's TZ labels or fabric tape, making it perfect for marking up school uniforms and possessions as well as school equipment.

Brother is demonstrating its support of the model with the launch of the Brother P-touch Balance back to school online competition (no purchase necessary) which aims to generate further interest in Brother labelling products within the back to school market.

The competition, in which players have to navigate a family home and stack household objects on top of one another without them toppling over, will run from 6 July to 13 December at www.brother.eu/florida. Twenty Apple iPod Nanos will be awarded to the best players, with five European weekend city breaks to the top monthly scorers, and a two week family holiday to Disney World, Florida given away to the top all-time scorers.

Mike Kelly, head of identification division, Brother UK said: "The launch of the PT1005F is a great way to kick start back to school sales for our reseller partners, and we intend to support this, not only through big incentives such as the holiday competition, but also through our channel support programme."
